Raci dresses in tight clothes and doesn't want her straight classmates to know that she's in transition. We see her at home, in acting class, and on campus. Gabbie is a sophomore, a self-described nerd, intent on making friends this year. She's learning how to interact in ways appropriate for a young women. Lucas, a senior at Smith College, is deciding whether to take hormones and gives up his role as a leader of the campus transgender support group; he's seen with his friend and roommate Kacey.
