Lee soon puts matters right, and Corinne gets her fuzzy hair all mixed up with his as he tinkers about. Eddie naturally keeps Louise company and they exchange cards. At home, Papa vetoes the impecunious young lawyer's prospective call; he wants a titled man for a son-in-law. One evening Papa goes to his club and is introduced to Lord Chester, whom he invites to call. While Papa is thus being entertained, Eddie has called and is enjoying a tête-à-tête with Louise. Corinne spies Lee and introduces him to the butler and the cook and they all have a good time. The following day his Lordship calls, Louise however, has no use for titled personages with Eddie outside honking his auto horn. She excuses herself and escapes, taking Corinne with her. Papa agrees to pay the lord $100,000 the day he marries Louise. His Lordship receives a letter from his mother, telling him to try to pay the mortgage on their estate. He follows up his suit with determination and Louise is forced to accept his offer. The invitations are sent out and Louise's little sister Lois is summoned home. She meets the Lord, and they are mutually attracted. Eddie gets desperate and persuades Louise to elope with him. His Lordship can stand his false position no longer. He tells Lois to elope with him. The parties all meet at the marriage bureau and again tumble upon each other at the parsonage. Explanations ensue and eventually all the couples appear before a puzzled and angry papa and mama.
