It's the life pieces that Director Xueqing Yin recorded living and working with background actors in XiangShan Film Studio, the 2nd largest Film Studio in China, which produced over 1000 TV series since 2005. To most of the background actors, it's where they start to dream. Xueqing made another name for the Studio: The Garden, like somewhere in another layer of reality. A Fantasy world for dreamers. Through her lens, she recorded background actors transforming from tired people doing makeup in the middle of the night to wandering "villagers" rushed into filming in the garden; she met shy background actors who introduced and performed happily and then waited at the filming spot like a robot.....In the Garden is a film that cleaned up the dusty window and misunderstanding of the mysterious filming industry and present people with a closeup view to see those dreamers in the Chinese filmmaking industry, and maybe also a reflection of other corners in the film world.
