She met Shun Ping (Say Ping Yap), an ex-drug addict who lost his legs. Inspired by him, she pulled herself together and eventually married him. Together with their children, they live a contented life and are actively involved in community work. Unlike her, Ai Xin's sisters, Ai Li (Aileen Tan) and Ai Ming (Priscelia Chan) are discontented with their lot. Ai Li is the richest among her sisters, she is proud and looks down on the rest. Ai Ming has a doting husband, Jin Han (Terence Cao), but is unhappy that he does not earn enough money. She is set on buying a condominium, hence sending the cash-strapped family into peril.
