The mood I instantly spoiled by the arrival of Jenny Vanjes, the dragon new secretary who is always transferred in no time. She rudely opposes the coffee break being held in the office 'against rules' -as Bonaventuur confirms, regretting the major loos of work time- and demands it brought on her desk, so Arabelle as angrily retreats into regulations minimal service at her kitchen. Tienpondt has a conversation in poor English with Mabel, his lazybones student son's English embassy girl friend. As booze may only be consumed with coffee, Van Hie gets help to break Arabel's strike that day, even Jomme can't stop the cognac craze, but the origin of the bottoms is a first awkward disclosure, the new mother's plans even worse.
