Steve proves to be pressing in relation to Christie, who has a feeling that he is going to start his acts of violence again. She uses an instant of Steve's inattention to run away from her flat having hidden some money in her wallet. Steve leaves to conduct his research in the city by arming himself with a revolver. Christie phones Ted at Laken's to inform him that her mother is about to make an outburst to the Capwell's. But it is in the private party organised in the Orient Express when Theda arrives. Persuaded that the Capwell threatened her daughter so that she sees her evidence, she attacks Sophia and grabs her on the shoulders. Thrown to the floor, Theda sprains her ankle, but Ted comes to her help and brings her back to his car. Mary apologises for her behaviour, but Laken proves to be uncompromising towards her. Mason calls Warren and asks him to send for Morgan Malone at the Capwell's. Morgan comes in and C.C. returns the money to him that he had accepted for the silence further to the explosion. C.C. is forced to sign a 10 million dollar cheque in the order of Well Gillis to avoid a trial and any bad advertising. Mason then makes Lindsay go back. Lindsay tells C.C. about the good memories that he kept of Channing Junior, then apologises for having participated in the blackmail which Peter Flint had forced upon Channing. C.C. tries to understand which bad deed his son could make to have been a victim of blackmail. Lindsay understands while C.C. knows nothing and, feeling deceived by Mason, leaves the villa immediately. Mason suggests his father should sit down before he tells him the truth...
