The chauffeur informs him that it will take a day to repair the damage. Jack spies a country hotel in the distance and decides to stay overnight. On his way to make arrangements he meets Fred Moore, a former college chum, who, upon learning of the difficulties, invites him to spend the night with him. Upon their arrival at Fred's house, one of the neighbors calls to Moore to come with him. Moore tells Jack to go in the house and make himself at home. In the meantime Dolly Moore, the pretty sister of Fred, has discovered a leak in the radiator and 'phones for the plumber to hurry to her assistance. Jack enters a few minutes later and she takes him for the plumber, as he happens to have a monkey wrench in his hand. Jack realizes that he can have some fun and allows Dolly to show him the radiator, which he repairs. She also decides as long as he is there he can fix the pipes of the sink. Fred discovers Jack at his task and at jack's request, decides to keep the joke up. Fred's folks are giving a dance and they send Fred's old chum an invitation. At the affair he is introduced to Dolly, who realizes the mistake she has made, but before the evening is over Jack and Dolly are engaged, Fred coming upon the scene with the lucky monkey wrench.
