The Council put the rates up 30%, to everyone's anger. Ralph likes Rita but tells her they have their own pianist. Rita refuses to sing without Ernie but he tells her not to be stupid. She gets the job. Jerry has a cycle meeting in the house so Ray takes Cindy to the yard for an evening of passion but she is frightened of Fury. The residents decide to form a ratepayers association.
