In the story, Fan Xian who was the main character of the novel was originally a person from our world that had myasthenia gravis. He accidentally got a second chance to be reborn in another world and was a bad of an government official of Qing. He was hunted by assassins since he was a baby, so he was sent to live with his grandmother in Danzhou which was a small town that was quite peaceful. Fan was taught by Fei Jie who knew a lot about poisons and Wu Zhu who could fight very well and was the one who saved him When his mother was killed and was protecting him all the time.
