Neigboring rancher Dick Mills has only a daughter, Cassandra 'Cassie', although given to farming. She falls in love with mysteriously well-educated wandering cowboy Cal Withers and discovers he's the heir of Canada's largest railway corporation. When his ma is dying, she manages to sabotage their love. After Dick gets paralyzed in a fall, the ranch's only hope is for Cassie, who fled city life, to marry her good friend Frederic.
