Considering that they barely know each other, Taylor feels as if being used and staunchly refuses to go through with it despite Sheila's plea to do it for Eric's sake. Brooke complains to Karen that she is disappointed in Eric and Ridge's behavior as of late. She then explains that she is going out on a date with a high-school friend who used to be a football rival to Ridge. Eric - who is already back from his business trip - catches up with Ridge and the patent attorney to discuss the next steps. Eric and Steve both shut down Ridge's idea to entrust Brooke with the fact that Forrester Creations can only get the BeLieF patent if she signs an employment contract. At Café Russe, Taylor looks forward to a romantic evening with Ridge. However, Brooke's plan to make Ridge jealous works instantly when he recognizes Connor Davis as her date.
