Only now, after a century of abuse, is the Great Zimbabwe reclaiming it's uniquely African heritage. But can archaeologists undo the years of preceding damage? Perhaps the real mystery connected with this site is why society and archaeologists took so long to recognize the Great Zimbabwe for what it is: South Africa's first city. See less
