A member of a gang of outlaws has become enamored of a village lass, who loves an honest peasant, and the outlaws request for her hand is therefore unsuccessful, and he is reduced to crime to attain his end The girl's father is gagged and ...See moreA member of a gang of outlaws has become enamored of a village lass, who loves an honest peasant, and the outlaws request for her hand is therefore unsuccessful, and he is reduced to crime to attain his end The girl's father is gagged and bound, carried to a hut of straw where he is left bound to a post, while a letter is sent to the girl saying that if she desires his release she must get 1,000 crowns, and give it to a masked messenger, who will wait at a certain spot. The girl's efforts to raise the money are fruitless and her rejected lover will only give her the money if she consents to marry him. She refuses and applies to her lover, and the latter soon suggests an ingenious plan. When she gives the messenger a purse full of pieces of stone he overpowers him, then. dons his cloak and takes his way to the father's prison, only to be recognized and bound beside the other prisoner, while the hut is set alight by the outlaws.
