Elsewhere, two siblings search for the birth mother they were separated from in the 1960s against a backdrop of social prejudice toward single mothers. Singer KT Tunstall always knew she was adopted - she grew up in St Andrews in Scotland and had a happy childhood with a loving adoptive family. As an adult, KT searched for her birth mother and the pair reunited in 1998, but KT has always wanted to find the other half of her history in her birth father. Meanwhile, siblings Simon Munro and Carole Killick grew up apart after their mother left when Carole was a toddler and Simon a baby - they were reunited over 20 years ago and are now taking on the search for their birth mother, who was struggling with the prospect of homelessness around the time she gave them up.
