His dissatisfaction with his son Mark is equaled by his adoration of his non-binary grandchild Sonny. He seems as disinterested in his daughter-in-law Maria as she is in him. However, it's only after one of Julian's "parties" goes very wrong, that a detective starts to ask questions, and we begin to see behind the facade of propriety.
