Simon Fabel pretends to be a newspaper journalist in order to interview grandpa Fonkel. This facade would allow him to steal an old invention of his from the laboratory (the Mega Sleep-inducer), which he uses on the whole town, so he can rob everyone blind unhindered. Migrain jails Fonkel, but the robbery goes on. Grandma tells Mieke it was grandpa's first major invention, but caused a disaster accidentally aborted by Migrain, after which he was forbidden to invent anything else, and realizes Fabel must have stolen it.
