Through the brave efforts of its notably unreliable correspondent, Dr. Stew, the picture was obtained at Hundred-below, a settlement at the top of the world. The pole looks pretty much like a barber's pole. Dr. Stew enjoys the hospitality of a Polar bear and his family. The two speediest chickens in the world are seen in a race at Tapioca, Cal.
