They are being marched to their cells, when the last one, who is a comical fellow, hurdles the wall and dashes to freedom. Amok in the streets, he begins a series of pranks, the first of which is when he kisses two women on the street. He follows this by drinking the gasoline belonging to a chauffeur and going to a riverbank, he eats the soap with which a woman is washing, at the same time throwing her into the water. He next mounts a street cleaner's cart, creates damage with this, after which he calmly enters the house of a citizen through the window. A couple are engaged at dinner, and they flee, leaving the lunatic to the feast. They summon the police, but while they are gone the lunatic finds an officer's uniform and dons it with the result that when he walks out of the house the policemen stand at attention. His last is an effort to make a speech at the river front, where a number of longshoremen place a rope around his waist and give him several duckings.
