This time, they focus on five residents of a quiet settlement at a remote crossroads. One day in 1994, the community is shaken when the bodies of Rwandan genocide victims flow down the nearby Kagera River, soon followed by thousands of refugees. Within days, the settlement swells into the makeshift city of Benaco, housing 600,000 displaced people. The film follows the lives of the original residents as they face the overwhelming challenges of mass immigration, fear, and survival, capturing their personal stories of resilience in the face of an unprecedented crisis.
