The tremendous diameter of the logs necessitates blasting into more convenient size. They are then "snaked" by cable up the hillside, felling trees and underbrush in their path. If the cable breaks, there is great loss of time and money. The log trains carry the logs to the saw mill. A ninety-two-inch board is shown, also a flume which carries bundles of boards sixty-five miles to Sanger. It drops 4,000 feet in the first six miles.
