The girl is compelled, by the wide reach of sea and the weather, to remain in the lighthouse several days. One of the keepers is a drunkard and the other, a fine character, saves the girl from his unwelcome attentions. The ugly man attempts to kill him; there is a struggle and both fall to the foot of the winding stairs. The bad man only is killed. Later, the girl is betrothed to the other.
