He lives with his mother a travels from farm to farm buying and selling anything he can. Business is not good and if truth be told, many of the locals are tired of seeing him everyday. His mother suggests tat he try a new area and there he meets Mrs. Sadgrove and her daughter Mary. They seem quite pleased to trade with him and eventually ask him to Sunday dinner. Eventually, Mrs. Sadgrove asks if he would like to marry her daughter. She points out that she is in poor health and that her daughter will inherit the farm when she's gone. Harvey already has a girlfriend, Sophy, who quite likes him. He makes his choice but realizes too late it may not have been the right one. Written by garykmcd See less
