She secures a position as assistant to Velma Tolliver, editor of the woman's page on the "News," and whose brother is owner and editor of the paper. One night Edna dressed as a boy, hides in a room and overhears the conversation of some political crooks. She is discovered, but manages to escape with her "scoop."
