Mudville is billed for a game. The team, in reality, is composed of men. On the way to the ballpark the "girls" flirt with the local boys, causing many a heart to go pit-a-pat. During the game Spike, sliding for home, loses his wig. The ruralites come to the realization that they have been humbugged, and start to mob the team. The "bloomers," devoid of wigs, start across country on the run, with the crowd in. pursuit, and barricade themselves behind closed doors. See less
