Mother ...See moreThe mistake in question is one of identity: is the man who is found under the bed the daughter's admirer or is he a burglar? Father disapproves of the young man who loves his daughter and he sends the girl off to a boarding-school. Mother has not met the young man, and, when she discovers a male person under the bed, she believes that it must be the impetuous young lover. With the aid of the police, she has this person removed from the house, still unaware of the fact that he is in reality a burglar who has stolen a black suit and everything else he could get hold of. When the young admirer turns up to plead his cause, he is suspected of being a would-be adulterer. The astonished mother turns him out of the house, where he falls into the arms of the daughter, who has run away from her boarding-school. When the "mistake" is explained, the parents give their consent to the young couple's marriage. Written by
