While in the midst of the operation which will save her life, he receives word that his own little girl has been injured and only an operation by himself can save her. He feels it his duty to see the injured little girl out of danger, and when he arrives home his daughter is dead. His mind is dulled by his sorrow, and his wife leaves him because he refused to come in time. Several years later finds him employed in a factory. One of the factory women is injured.
