He locks it in a wall safe, and tells her if anyone tries to open it the alarm above it will go off. Neal, her sweetie, is on the way to her home. He collides with a policeman, completely demolishing the cop's car. Neal is holding a bottle wrapped in paper and the cop thinks he is a bootlegger and starts after him but Neal knocks him over and jumping into a motorcycle standing near, drives off. The big fat cop finds a bicycle and starts after him on that. Neal arrives at Gayle's, removes the wrapping from the bottle, which proves to be a bowl of goldfish' done up for easy carrying. Holding it in his hand he starts to go into the room where Gayle and her Dad are, he trips, dropping the fish on dad. Dad, very angry, leaves them alone. Gayle tells Neal about the brooch and asks him to hold the alarm so it won't go off while she takes out the brooch. He does so and gets a terrific shock from it but Gayle gets the pin out and they leave for the Night Club, in the motorcycle. Neal can't stop it when they get there so they ride right into it and stop only when the orchestra platform meets them. Pat Clancy and his wife, who is a very crabby woman, are seated near Neal's party. Neal throws a balloon at Pat when he is trying to light a cigarette and the explosion puts the fussy wife in a panic. Gayle discovers she has lost the brooch. Neal starts crawling under the tables to find it and causes much confusion among the dancers. Pat in the meanwhile has been flirting with the chorus girls and the oriental dancer and his wife finally decides to go home. While they are getting their wraps, she drops her brooch, which is almost the same as Gayle's, and her husband picks it up and puts it in his pocket, telling her to have the clasp fixed. Neal just sees the Irishman put the brooch in his pocket, and leave. Neal goes after them and when they arrive home he accuses Pat of having stolen the brooch. Pat calls a policeman who arrests Neal instead. He gets away, however, and into the house, where he finds the brooch on a table. He gets it just as four cops come after him. He dashes back to the Night Club to find that Gayle has recovered her brooch. She tells him to go back with the other one. Just then the Club is held up and both brooches and all the other guests' jewelry is confiscated by the leader and put in his derby. Neal makes a dash to get under a table, upsets a bottle of catsup which drips down on his head, and he thinks he is shot, he dashes right out on the floor, slips, and brings down the leader of the bandits. The police then arrive and Neal is a hero as he has downed the bandit and recovered all the jewels. As he is handing back the loot to the owners, Pat comes in and accuses him of the theft of his Wife's brooch. He is arrested and in the cloakroom, while waiting for the girl to bring the wraps, he pulls down the hatrack on the cops who all get entangled in it. He manages to slip Pat's brooch into Pat's vest and grabs Gayle for a getaway. After a few more difficulties, they get out and Neal tells Gayle that the next time she wears that brooch, to leave it at home and they embrace as we fade out.
