Kirby, their agent, stops at the Brent home, and while attending to his business mission, pays ardent attentions to Barbara. The latter's intuition and quick wit enable her to frustrate the first attempt of the Syndicate to force a sale, and they determine to use extreme measures. Santone, a discharged employee, is their tool. A scheme to ruin the Brent and Wallace crops by blowing up the irrigation pipe leads up to a thrilling climax.
