The family are staying in the Alps, and as ascent of one of the peaks is arranged, Pa, his daughter, and the "official" lover setting out on mule back. Pa would probably not be so pleased were he aware that the guide is no other than the young man he has forbidden his house. The two young people outdistance the others, and arrange quite a pretty little surprise for them. The girl is lowered over the cliff to a ledge a little way down, and there lies in admirable imitation of a faint. When Pa and the lover see the girl's plight they are dismayed. The young man will by no means climb down and rescue his future wife, but the handsome guide slips into the breach and soon reappears with the girl in his arms. Pa offers him money, but he discloses his identity and asks for the girl's hand in marriage, which is granted. Written by Moving Picture World synopsis See less
