Fitz is madly in love with Naomi, a fellow culinary instructor at Le Cordon Bleu, but her ex-boyfriend Patrick is determined to win her back no matter how he has to get Fitz out of the way. In flashback to 1637 Verona, Fitz is pursuing the daughter of Duncan's employer, and Duncan is ordered to get Fitz out of the way. In modern day, Kalas has followed Duncan to Paris.
