The latter, delighted with his conquest, does not know what to do to please her. But weariness soon overtakes him and, one evening at a party, he abandons her for a dancer. Louise's resources are meager. Here she is struggling with the loan sharks, the bailiffs. It's expulsion, it's the street. So, in her extreme distress, she thinks of those she has left, of her old parents and she arrives in time to witness the agony of her mother who no longer recognizes her. As for the father, maddened with grief, he throws his repentant daughter to the curb. Despair grips Louise. Hunger, a bad advisor, leads her into an infamous environment of counterfeiters whose leader, the terrible Julot, forces her to comply with his demands and to serve as an intermediary for his evil deeds. Everything has an end and it doesn't take long for police officer Nick Winter to get his hands on the gang of thieves. The policeman understood what role poor Louise had been forced to play and let her go towards her cruel destiny. After various scenes, where fails alternate with noble attempts at recovery, Louise is forced to commit suicide, for fear of shame and dishonor. Called back to life, cared for by brave people who arranged for her to have an interview with her father, Louise was finally able to return to the family home from where she would only leave on the arm of a valiant husband, happy and confident in herself.
