Sofie is visiting her grandmother for the first time since her twin brother Magnus died. They were playing hide and seek when Magnus fell from the tree, and it's troubled times for Sofie, now that she's alone and misses him. But Sofie's grandmother is also tormented by sorrow and despair. She must use her knowledge and experience to help Sofie open her eyes and heart and relive the grief for later to restore her appetite for life.
