En route Arthur stops at Dolly's house for a brief chat. Dolly's mother gives him a sample of some goods he promised to get for her. But coming back the bundle of goods drops from his saddle. Arriving at Dolly's he gives her the payroll to keep while he goes after the lost package. Meanwhile a hobo and his pal are sauntering around when they come to a ranch house. Through a window they see a girl showing her mother a large roll of money. They break in, but not before Dolly phones the ranchman. Frantically searching for a hiding place for the money, Dolly sees the pies that her mother has been making, one of which is unfinished. She hurriedly sticks the money under the crust and then places the pie in the oven. The tramps break through from the living room into the kitchen. They see the fresh-made pies and start devouring. Meanwhile the ranchman's cowboys are on the way. Finishing the pies, all but one, the hobos demand to know where the money is hidden. Dolly gets one of them cornered in a closet and the mother is threatening the other with a rolling pin when the men arrive. Arthur returns, and Dolly insists that he have a piece of pie. Under the crust Arthur finds the payroll. Written by
