Jennie gets Walsh to propose, and she gets him to show her the location of his mine. After a few days, Slim Schaffer, Jennie's lover, arrives at the mining camp. Walsh overhears Jennie and Slim plotting to depart with the ore. He confronts Jennie while Slim is in the mine tunnel. Jennie and Walsh hear an explosion, and run to the mine. They find the opening has been completely sealed with Slim trapped inside. Walsh leaves Jennie with a sack of gold and departs. Jennie tries desperately to rescue Slim, but her efforts are wasted.
