Grace, because Bob, a young millionaire, is an idler. As police commissioner, however, the colonel has not been so busy himself in the work of rounding up a notorious society burglar. The papers roast him unmercifully. Ricketts and Grace set out to capture the Raffles in order to prove that Bob is not altogether worthless. In laying their net at a society function, suspicion, by freak chance, falls upon Ricketts. The young millionaire is thus spurred to furious effort in apprehending the real robber, and finally does. Then Bob and the colonel make a little deal. Bob gives the colonel credit for capturing the burglar in return for his consent to the marriage of the young couple.
