Warmed by the mugs of ale, he proposed, only to be told that she wanted "a foin bit of a man, wan to protect me." Slivers sought to be the would-be protector, but the widow made short work of his make-believe burglar, whose ghost at the grave pointed an accusing finger at Slivers.
