He distributes them all with the exception of two. Coming to the stream he decides to fish for a while, and buying tackle, he seats himself on the bridge with the legs beside him. Jake and Mike are fishing in a rowboat. They catch all manner of queer things and quarrel violently. A girl comes and takes a seat by the doctor. She picks up one of the artificial legs and allows it to dangle by her own. Jake and Mike, rowing under the bridge, observe it. Mike readies for it and girl and all come flying down into the water. Jake rows away disgusted, as Mike jumps in to rescue her. The doctor leaves with the remaining limb and is pursued by Jake and three policemen, who imagine he was carrying a real leg.
