He finds note informing him that his wife has gone to a seance and that his lunch is under a napkin on the table. Disgusted and angry with his wife, the policeman takes off his uniform and hurries to the place where the medium is performing. Swami Swungie, as a medium, was so crooked he had to screw his socks off. One member of a group of 15 tells the "professor" that his seance stuff is fake, but he manages to get rid of the troublemaker. One old woman wants to know if she will marry again. A skull travels out in the air to greet her and Swungi says it is her first husband. Mister and Missus Sylvester O. Whitehead, two colored folks, are startled at seeing the moving skull. Another lady wants to see her old dancing teacher and a skeleton appears in the air. This is too much for the black Whiteheads and they flee in terror. Then comes the crowning feature of the seance. Swungie puts on a black cape, and aided by a spotlight in the dark room, manages to rob nearly everyone present. Only his hand and arm are visible and he attempts to carry out the illusion of a detached arm moving in space. But when this moving hand reaches Officer Halloran, the cop grabs his gun and starts after the crooked medium.
