Lewis is just out of college, fresh and overwhelmed by his own importance. He rushes to inform his sister and Wally that it is the night of the opera, and that they must hurry to be on time. Then the race to get dressed starts. Wally hates evening dress, anyway and when he starts hunting for his dress shirt, his aversion to getting dressed up increases. All he can find is a slightly soiled shirt. He nearly has it on when he discovers that Lewis has his clean one laid out for himself. While he is hunting for a collar, Lew uses the clean shirt to shine his shoes, and Wally nearly "blows up." When he goes into the bathroom to shave, he finds Lew has preceded and has ruined his best razor. While Wally is trying to shave with what is left of it, both Lew and his wife interrupt him by going into the cabinet for various toilet articles. Then his wife begs him to fasten her dress. Wally feels like he had been through a wrestling match before he has accomplished this. Next comes Wally's attempt to put on his collar and tie. Lew is smoking a cigarette in a long holder, and this ignites Wally's collar when Lew attempts to help him. Wally, finally dressed, goes into the parlor to learn from his wife that the tickets to the opera are for tomorrow night. This is the end, and when Wally gets through with Lew, the brother-in-law looks like he had been through a battle royal. Written by Copyright Description from Library of Congress See less
