She accepts Jack; and George, in anger, prejudices his father against her, so that when the young man brings Nance to his home, the father forbids her the house. The young couple go west. They prosper. At home a mortgage falls due, but as they are unable to meet it, George writes Jack, asking for the money. Jack send it; but George, instead of paying off the mortgage, squanders it in gambling. At the gambling house he gets into a quarrel and strikes a man down. Fearing that he may have killed the man, he jumps into the door of a moving freight and is soon on his way west. Arriving at the town where Jack lives he inquires his way to the house. He is joyfully received by Jack, until he finds the letter he has written to his mother in George's pocket. However, on the way out George has had time for thought and is now truly sorry for the part he has played, so upon his confession, he receives his brother's forgiveness. Then Jack hastens back to his old father and mother just in time to keep them from being turned out on the street. Written by Moving Picture World synopsis See less
