Three hold-up men ascertain the object of his trip, plan to waylay him, but are afraid to do so in daylight, so they decide to hide in the ranch house until he returns. He leaves in charge of the place his daughter, a brave and resourceful girl, and the hold-up men are doubtful about the best manner of getting into the house without exciting her suspicion. They meet a wagon on the way to the ranch to deliver two sacks of potatoes. They tie up the driver, empty his sacks, and two of the rascals get into the sacks, while the third drives the wagon to the ranch. He succeeds in getting the sacks into the house, when the girl detects their contents and persuades him to take the "potatoes" into the cellar, where they belong. He does so, thinking to free his friends for further operations, but when they are fairly below the floor the girl slams down the trapdoor, gets her gun and piles the furniture on the door, so that the men cannot get out. On his way home the ranchman comes across the unfortunate driver, who was tied up to a tree by the rascals, and learns his story. He releases him and they hasten on to the ranch. They arrive just in time to save the girl, who has fired her last shot, from the hands of the irate villains, and secure the latter for the sheriff. Written by Moving Picture World synopsis See less
