Supposedly, if a person calls their own cell phone, the Joker will appear and grant them a wish. Tatsuya Suou is a handsome, popular student at Seven Sisters High School. He and two of his friends - aspiring rock star Eikichi Mishina and Japanized American Lisa "Ginko" Silverman - call the Joker, and tragedy ensues - several of Eikichi's friends end up mindless vegetables, living out their "wishes" in their own little dream world. Now Tatsuya, Eikichi, and Ginko must try to discover the Joker's secret. They'll be aided by perky teen reporter Maya Amano and her photographer assistant, Yukino Mayuzumi. Together, the five of them will find out that the keys to the Joker mystery are buried in their memories, and that the fate of the entire world lies in their hands.
