As the name implicates strange relationship is about two college mates Madhav ( ANR) and Sandhya (Vanisri) an arrogant rich girl, who is insulted by Madhav in the college and seeks to take revenge by pretending to love him. Madhav, after knowing he is fooled by her, kidnaps her and rapes her. As a consequence she gets pregnant. Her father kills himself and her brother becomes a cripple, and she becomes a pauper and leaves her child in the orphanage.
