He isn't worried about his upcoming report card, but upon receiving it with Cs across the board except a B in History up from a C last time, he is in a funk as he was expecting an A in History. In not wanting to show his parents, he is negligent in having the signed report card returned to school, with his teacher Miss Rogers sending him to see the principal Mr. Edmonds a result. Howard explains his disappointment in his report card to Mr. Edmonds in believing he deserved an A especially in the amount of effort he put into the class. As such, Mr. Edmonds explains to him the need for emotional balance to things, especially when they don't turn out as one expects, those expectations which should match reality. He tries to stress the need to set goals but that they should be achievable. He also tells Howard that others may view results and expectations differently than oneself in being more objective. Howard may get a better perspective of Mr. Edmonds talk when he is able to view what he considers the unreasonable emotional upset of others to things that have happened to them. But Howard still has to learn how to deal with disappointment. Written by
