She moved to other parts, taking her child with her. In the years that passed, he longed for the companionship of his wife and finally seeks pleasure in the company of one of the factory girls. Grace, the girl he admires, had taken a room with a widow and one evening she asked permission to bring her gentleman friend. The widow gladly consents and Grace presents, to her astonishment, the widow's husband. Grace secretly returns the ring and makes the wife believe she knew all, had rented the room purposely to bring the two together. But she had lied; she had sacrificed all for the man she loved.
