Anyone wanting to accomplish anything was moving away and the town of Napanee was finding itself unsure if it had a real future in the country's second century that was just starting at that point. A good view of the experiences of the forgotten parts of the rural country and possibly a view into the source feelings that became the grievances of modern society.
