Tom and Dick, becoming jealous of Harry, decide to unite forces, oust him and then settle the affair between themselves. So they proceed to make his life miserable whenever he is with her. At the critical moment they always manage to appear as heroes and bear her off in victory, leaving Harry in various predicaments. Finally, when he takes her automobiling, they extract most of the gasoline, stalling his car in the suburbs. They then whisk her away in their machine. Forced to walk home, Harry takes a cross-country route and finally discovers the others on the road below, stalled by a puncture. Hoping for a chance to turn the tables, he makes his way to the road, and in so doing, stumbles upon a motion picture company just ending a play in which the hero rescues the heroine from desperadoes. This gives him an idea. He obtains the assistance of the actors and there follows a thrilling attack upon the automobile party in which Torn and Dick are securely bound. Just as Nan is about to be kidnapped, Harry appears in the role of hero, and the obliging actors strew themselves upon the roadside. Harry executes a spectacular rescue and wins Nan from under the noses of his rivals. Written by
