Mrs. Washbucket learns of a mystic Hindoo who claims to possess a remedy for evil habits. She call on the Hindoo, who presents her with a Fetich (a miniature clay figure of a man), which is supposed to represent the wayward husband. If a pin is stuck into the Fetich the husband will feel the prick in the corresponding part of his body. Mrs. Washbucket has abundant opportunity to test its efficacy. It works like a charm. Mr. Washbucket, feeling the mysterious pin pricks and unable to account for the cause, first consults a dentist, then a doctor, and finally takes to his bed, where he is tended by a pretty nurse. Mrs. Washbucket discovers him flirting with the nurse, and in a rage she returns to the drawing-room, where she abandons herself to a savage attack on the Fetich. Mr. Washbucket, unable to stand the assault, makes his way to the drawing-room, where he discovers the cause of all his agony; Mrs. Washbucket explains matters and Mr. Washbucket promises to behave in the future.
