He is ready to test the invention on himself, empties the test tube with the serum in it and - falls off his chair. When his attractive housekeeper Joanie (Madison) wakes him up the next morning, he drags himself exhausted into the bathroom and is surprised to discover that he has transformed into his female version. He goes under the name of Maxine Douglas (Ashlyn Gere) to dispel the housekeeper's astonishment. However, this does not protect Maxine from the tempestuous passion of gardener Manny (Randy West), who eventually seduces her. She explores her sexuality with him and learns what sexual intercourse is like from a woman's perspective. While putting on women's underwear to adjust to his role as a woman, Dr. Maxiner breaks down again and resumes his male form. Joanie joins him, but she thinks he has the same fetish as her brother. She is more than willing to satisfy him and they have sex with each other. Dr. Maxiner sums up the events at the end of the day and concludes that his formula has gone completely off the rails and that he has already had sex twice: once as a man and once as a woman. Before another test of the serum, his friend Lance comes by and invites him to go out with two women, Sondra (Celia Young) and Michelle (Champagne). But the rendezvous doesn't quite go as Lance had planned: Sondra doesn't like him and leaves the restaurant. Michelle is attracted to Douglas Maxiner and takes him home, where they kiss and Michelle leaves him alone for a moment to put on something lighter. Suddenly, Maxiner breaks down again and transforms into his female form. On her return, Michelle realizes that he has disappeared. She regrets that he has gone and tells her roommate Sondra how much she likes him. Now that there is no man with her, she has a good time with Sondra instead. Maxiner, who wakes up after a brief period of unconsciousness and realizes that he has become Maxine Douglas again, observes Sondra and Michelle's lustful activities. Although it arouses her, she leaves the scene and returns home. Two days later, the female form has stabilized, but the mind has remained male. Semen is needed to transform back into a man, but as he has fallen in love with a woman who seems to be more attracted to women than men, he doubts whether this is the right thing to do. However, when Michelle shows up at the door looking for Douglas Maxiner and confesses how much she likes him, the decision is made. Maxine Douglas seeks out Lance, who doesn't recognize her. But since she bluntly states she wants sex with him and his seed, he doesn't take long and willingly sleeps with her. She lets him ejaculate into a cup and returns to the laboratory, where she adds a drop of semen to the serum and drinks it. Transformed back into a man, he visits Michelle, who is sunbathing in the garden and has not forgotten him. At the end, the movie shows Douglas Maxiner and Michelle having sex with each other.
