His father suddenly loses all his wealth, dies, and the son has his mother and sister to support. He gets a job in the mills his father owned, and falls in love with the foreman's daughter, who seems to return his affection. But the girl's head is light, and she drops the boy for the superintendent of the mills, known to be a high-flyer. The boy objects to this, and because of his objection is fired.
